Professional Responsibilities After more than five years serving as a lecturer at the former Faculty of Islamic Sciences – Souq Al-Jumaa, Dr. Khamis Abdullah Al-Najah, Faculty Member at University of Sharia Sciences, currently works full-time as a lecturer at the Faculty of Usul al-Din, Department of Hadith and Its Sciences. He supervises fourth-year graduation projects and served on the review committee for the conference: “Contemporary Atheism: Causes and Means of Confrontation” in December 2022. Professional Career Prior to joining University of Tripoli, Dr. Khamis Abdullah Al-Najah graduated from Suqour Al-Fida Secondary School in Hay Al-Andalus in 1982. He completed his undergraduate studies at Al-Asmariya Islamic University, Department of Da‘wah and Fundamentals of Religion, graduating in 2001. He later pursued postgraduate studies at the same university, earning his Master’s degree in 2008. He continued his academic journey by commencing doctoral studies in 2010 and was awarded his PhD in 2019. During this period, he worked for two years as an Arabic language instructor at the Preparatory Institute of the Faculty of Islamic Da‘wah. He also served as a collaborating lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Da‘wah from the academic year 2019 until 2023. Research Interests Dr. Khamis Abdullah Al-Najah has contributed to a number of scholarly studies and peer-reviewed publications, including: “Imam Ibn Abd al-Barr’s Defense of Narrations Transmitted through Imam Malik Which Imam Muslim Criticized in His Book Al-Tamyiz: The Methodologies of the Two Imams and the Preferred View”, published in the Journal of the Faculty of Islamic Da‘wah, Issue 35, 2021. “The Impact of Humor on the Reliability of a Narrator According to Hadith Critics”, published in Al-Tibyan Journal, Faculty of Arts, University of Tripoli, Issue 14, September 2022. “The Narration of a Trustworthy Narrator from a Trustworthy Shaykh between the Shaykh’s Denial or Forgetfulness: Collection, Study, and Analysis”, published in the University Forum Journal, Faculty of Arts, Bani Walid, Issue 30, September 2022. External Activities Throughout his years of study and prior to his appointment at the university, Dr. Khamis Abdullah Al-Najah participated in several educational and scholarly activities. These included teaching the Holy Qur’an at Abdulsalam Al-Sharif Mosque from 1982 to 1988. He also served as a judge in Qur’anic and Hadith competitions organized by the Faculty of Islamic Da‘wah in 2021, as well as a judge in the Qur’anic competition organized by University of Tripoli in April 2022.
