Responsibilities

Professor Suhaib Al-Shaibi joined the Faculty of Sharia Sciences – Souq Al-Juma, University of Tripoli, as an Assistant Lecturer in 2019. During this period, he undertook numerous tasks that contributed to the development and advancement of the faculty. He also regularly delivered awareness lectures to students as part of the faculty’s weekly scientific activities.

He served as a member of the Scientific Committee for the First International Conference at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences, titled “Contemporary Atheism: Causes and Ways of Confrontation”, and was also a member of the Scientific Committee for the First Forum of Libyan Universities, titled “National Reconciliation Towards One Homeland and One Libyan Nation” in 2021.

Professional Career

Upon joining the university, Professor Suhaib Al-Shaibi was assigned as the Head of the Department of Fundamentals of Religion at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences – Souq Al-Juma, during the period from 2019 to 2022.

He traveled to Egypt to continue his studies at Mansoura University, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Religions and Islamic Sects with excellent grade, along with a recommendation to publish his thesis at the university’s expense in 2016.

Suhaib holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from the Faculty of Arts, University of Tripoli.

He currently serves as Head of the Department of Research and Consultations at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences since 2022, in addition to teaching in the Departments of Fundamentals of Religion and Sharia. He has combined teaching, research, and efforts to raise the students’ level in the field of research.

Research Interests

Professor Suhaib is an active researcher who has published in several journals. Notable publications include:

• “Violation of Multiparty Pluralism Against the Principles of Sharia Politics”, published by Dar Al-Athar Al-Misriya, 2012.
• “The Geopolitical Factor and Its Impact on the Spread of the Ibadi Sect in Jebel Nafusa”, Faculty of Arts, Mansoura University.

He has participated in several conferences, such as the Contemporary Atheism: Causes and Ways of Confrontation conference, where he contributed a paper titled “Mistakes in Refuting the Atheist Article” at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences – Souq Al-Juma, University of Tripoli.

External Activities

In addition to teaching at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences – Souq Al-Juma, Suhaib delivers scientific lessons in Tripoli, explaining foundational Islamic texts at Omar Ibn Abdulaziz Mosque. He has also been a preacher and collaborator with the General Authority of Endowments since 2009.

He has conducted courses and scientific and religious lectures at Imam Al-Ajri Center in Berlin, Germany.
