Word of the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia (Islamic Law)

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Master of Messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions. To proceed: The College of Sharia at the University of Sharia Sciences is a towering beacon in the firmament of knowledge. It undertakes a noble mission: to establish the foundations of Islamic sciences according to the methodology of the early generations (Salaf), and to cultivate discerning minds capable of accurately understanding Islamic law and deriving its rulings from its detailed evidence. This will restore to the Muslim community its awareness of the objectives of its Sharia in a world beset by numerous challenges and complex issues. The college comprises two academic departments deeply rooted in the field of Islamic jurisprudence: The Department of Islamic Jurisprudence and its Foundations focuses on cultivating legal expertise in its students and instilling in them the principles of critical analysis and independent reasoning. This prepares them to be beacons of guidance in matters of Maliki jurisprudence and comparative jurisprudence, drawing upon the heritage of the imams and striving with the light of evidence and sound judgment. As for the Department of Islamic Economics, it serves as a clear source for studying economic systems in light of the objectives of Islamic law. It demonstrates the magnificence of Islamic legislation in regulating transactions and highlights the capacity of Islamic economics to address contemporary financial issues in a manner consistent with the spirit of the religion and the demands of reality. The College strives—with unwavering determination—to combine the authenticity of Islamic jurisprudence with an awareness of contemporary realities, and to employ Islamic sciences in a way that addresses the nation's religious, social, and economic needs. This is achieved within a framework of rigorous research, scholarly responsibility, and adherence to core values. The College is also committed to developing an academic environment that fosters rigorous research and to building bridges of cooperation with universities and research centers both domestically and internationally, all in service of its noble mission and strategic objectives of serving religion, the nation, and society. We ask God Almighty to grant us all success in upholding the trust of this noble knowledge, to make our deeds purely for His sake, and to bless the efforts of all members of the College of Sharia—faculty, staff, and students—in their blessed endeavors to elevate knowledge and benefit the nation. He is the source of all success and the One capable of all good.
