Postgraduate and Training Administration

The General Administration for Graduate Studies and Training at the University is responsible for preparing and implementing graduate studies plans for faculty members, teaching assistants, employees, or other employees in various work entities within the University’s jurisdiction. It also undertakes the necessary procedures regarding sending faculty members and teaching assistants affiliated with the University abroad for the purpose of conducting graduate studies.

The General Administration of Graduate Studies and Training at the University seeks to provide society with outputs that deal with the present, preserve its positives, and prepare for the future with all its ambitions and applications, and to work on increasing scientific productivity and raising the level of performance, by renewing the culture of scientific research, given that graduate studies are the creation of the future scientific capabilities of society.

Creating and localizing knowledge and imbuing it with a character that preserves the identity and characteristics of this society, and to contribute to drawing up the society’s future strategies in order to achieve its goals, and to be optimally prepared to meet the needs of future generations by preparing scientific cadres capable of shouldering these enormous burdens.

The General Administration for Graduate Studies and Training at the university aims, through its programs, to achieve the following:
  • Producing and deepening science and knowledge, and raising the cultural and civilizational level of society.
  • Contributing to the progress and prosperity of society by activating and expanding the scientific research movement, and creating a suitable environment for it in a way that serves development and progress.
  • Emphasizing the Islamic and Arab cultural values ​​of Libyan society, and working to revive the Islamic and Arab heritage.
  • Preparing and training specialized and qualified scientific personnel from professors and researchers.
  • Developing and fostering a spirit of scientific research among graduate students by training them in scientific research methods and approaches.
  • Working to transform acquired knowledge into practical and creative skills that contribute to solving many societal issues, through creativity and innovation.
  • Conducting the necessary scientific and technical studies and research to develop the educational process and to work on linking the university with the community.

Quality management and performance evaluation deals with the following:

  • Supervising the exchange of information with specialized regional and international bodies, comparing the standards applied at its university and colleges with those applied at its affiliated university or colleges, and working to develop them.
  • Proposal to develop work procedures, rules, and strategic guidelines to improve performance and ensure the quality of university education.
  • Conducting and participating in field studies to compare the outputs of university education with the needs of the labor market, and providing recommendations in this regard.
  • Preparing periodic and annual follow-up reports on the department's activity.
