- Dr. Al-Shaybani Iyad Areibi, born in Qarquzah, Tripoli (1976).
- Faculty member at the Higher Institute of Sharia Sciences – Al-Bayda, since 2007.
- Faculty member at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Al-Asmariya University (formerly the Higher Institute of Sharia Sciences), from 2007 to 2011.
- Sent on a doctoral scholarship to Egypt from 2011 to 2016.
- Faculty member at the Faculty of Sharia, Mohammed bin Ali Al-Senussi Islamic University (formerly Al-Asmariya University), from 2016 until October 2019.
- Faculty member at the University of Tripoli, Faculty of Sharia Sciences – Souq Al-Jumaa, since 2019.
- Director of the Faculty Members Affairs Office at the Faculty of Sharia Sciences – Souq Al-Jumaa, since 2019.
- Holder of an Ijazah (certification) in the Holy Qur’an, narration of Qalun from Nafi‘, 2001.
Professional Career
Before joining the University of Tripoli, Dr. Al-Shaybani Abdullah Al-Najah graduated from Saqour Al-Fida Secondary School in the Al-Andalus district in 1982.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Al-Asmariya University for Islamic Sciences in Zliten, Department of Da‘wah and Fundamentals of Religion, graduating in 2001.
He then continued his studies at the same university, earning a Master’s degree in 2008, and later began his doctoral studies in 2010, from which he obtained his PhD.
Research Interests
- Dr. Al-Shaybani Abdullah Al-Najah has conducted several research studies, including the publication of a peer-reviewed article in the Journal of the Faculty of Islamic Da‘wah, Issue 35, entitled:
- “Imam Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr’s Defense of Hadiths Narrated through Imam Malik That Were Criticized by Imam Muslim in His Book Al-Tamyeez – Methodology of the Two Imams and Preference”
Published in 2021.
External Activities
Throughout his years as a student and until his appointment at the University of Tripoli, Dr. Al-Shaybani Abdullah Al-Najah engaged in several educational activities, including in general:
Teaching the Holy Qur’an at Abdul Salam Al-Sharif Mosque from 1982 to 1988.
Serving as a judge in the Qur’anic and Hadith competition organized by the Faculty of Islamic Da‘wah in 2021.
Serving as a judge in the Qur’anic competition organized by the University of Tripoli, Libya, April 2022.
